Oh Audrey. I’m really not sure how it is that you’re gone. You were just smiling with your kids in front of my camera. You were just walking with us on a nature hike. You were just exercising your dry humor over a glass of wine at book club. You were just…doing everything good in life. Loving your children. Joking with Caleb. Hosting a million people.

Caleb shared your commonplace passage about how love serves - I’ve already written it in my own commonplace. You drew from such deep wells, and then you offered it to those around you.

I’m so glad I knew you. I’m so glad we were friends. I’m so glad to have the sound of your voice in my head and your words in my heart. I’m so glad to have seen you mother and love. I’m so full of missing you, friend.

You guys are some of my favorites. You’re all so full of affection, hilarity and good cheer. Thanks for letting me create keepsakes for you before you deploy. Thank you for serving. I hope these are a balm when you need to remember the curve of a smile, the shape of each other.

The LORD bless you and keep you, the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious unto you, the LORD look upon you with favor and give you peace.
