Inside Look | Skinny Bones

Everywhere you look there's a story unfolding, and we didn't have to go farther than our local pumpkin patch to find one! Normally I keep our personal life on our family blog - KINDRED STORY - but reaching out to local businesses and telling their stories is a new passion of mine as a photographer, so you will see more of our treasured community gems here.

The place in question? Skinny Bones! Skinny Bones is a family-operated business just south of Blair, Nebraska and boasts many fun attractions like a top-ranked 10-acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, hay rack ride, corn pool, face painting, jumping pillow, petting zoo, race tracks and slides. With the exception of concessions, gifts & pumpkins, admission covers everything. (For hours and rates, check out their site here.) Jeff & Maria Bledsoe are the kindest owners and you can tell they love the attraction and experience they've created.

Last Friday, The Mister took a day off of work and we loaded up the Littles for a late afternoon/evening of fun in the golden sun. And boy did we have fun! The highlights...

swimming in corn Milo fell in love with a chicken and chased it with abandon sliding at top speed! • feeding and petting miniature donkeys trying not to fall over in a sideways house Mad Cow ride photo op with ET face painting! feasting on kettle corn, BBQ pork nachos, & an M&M-coated caramel apple (still salivating over that one...) playing with pumpkins (I promise we didn't hurt any, Maria!)  racing peddle cars bouncing to our hearts content swooshing down Franken-slide

As the rose-colored sun went down & the Littles tuckered out, we meandered back to our car and headed home for a night of rest and reliving fun memories.

Thank you, Skinny Bones, for such a wonderful time and for helping us write one more page in our family story! We can't wait to come back :D

(If you're a local business looking for someone to tell your story, let me know!)
